Privacy Policy
Last updated 19 August 2026
The Reviewery ("we", "us") is operated from British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Short version: we collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell it, and you can delete everything from inside the app.
What we collect
- Account. If you sign in with Apple we receive a stable identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email (Apple's private relay is supported). Guests can browse without an account; a guest session is anonymous.
- What you post. Reviews, scores, pour logs, tap-list reports, saved places, visits, photos you submit, your display name, handle and bio. Reviews and pours are public by design; your palate profile is private.
- Location. Only while you use the app, and only if you allow it, to show nearby places and to mark a review as a verified visit. We don't track location in the background and we don't store a location history.
- Photos. Photos you submit are screened automatically and, where necessary, by a human moderator before they are shown. Faces in focus, personal data, and anything not about the venue are rejected.
- Device & diagnostics. A push token if you enable notifications; basic crash and performance diagnostics through Apple.
How we use it
To run the service: show scores and tap lists, compute your Passport and palate profile, match you with people whose scores correlate with yours ("Trusted Palates"), send the notifications you turned on, and keep the community safe. Venue summaries ("What people say") are generated automatically from published reviews.
Who we share it with
Service providers that host the app's data (Supabase), deliver push notifications (Apple), and screen photos and summarise reviews (Anthropic). They process data on our behalf under contract. We don't sell personal data and we don't run third-party advertising.
Your choices
- Location and notifications can be turned off in iOS Settings at any time.
- You can edit or delete your reviews, pours and photos.
- Delete your account from Settings → Delete account. Your profile, pours, Passport, photos and palate are removed; published reviews are anonymised so venue scores stay honest. This can't be undone.
- Email [email protected] for a copy of your data or any question.
Retention & security
We keep data while your account exists and for a short period after deletion for backups. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting provider. Access is limited to the people who run the service.
Children
The Reviewery is for people of legal drinking age where they live. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 19.
Changes
We'll post changes here and, for material changes, in the app.
